Over three years ago I started, what was back then, just a little mommy blog where I wrote about my family. I had no idea that just three years later it would become a place where mother’s from all over the world come to read about motherhood. My little mommy blog is now a full-time job that makes me an income so that I get to stay at home with my kids.
I get so many emails from my readers, mostly mothers, who are curious about what I do. From moms who are interested in working from home so they can stay at home with their new baby or moms who come to my blog to read about potty training or the struggles of breastfeeding or women who are struggling with infertility and are looking for hope to women looking for ways to have babies on a budget.
and I get it….because I was there once before too…
I was that young woman who was newly married and looking for that glimmer of hope after having multiple miscarriages. I was the new mom with a baby searching the internet at night looking for answers to questions I didn’t realize I would have.
And now looking back, I realize that I found what I was looking for, every single time, a mother who was going through exactly what I was going through at that very moment.
I am so grateful for the mother’s who came before me and shared their journeys, and who inspired me and gave me hope.
They are what inspired me to make the leap and start this journey.
They are the reason that I survived those sleepless, late nights. Sometimes the hard nights when I wondered if other moms had it this hard, or how they got through it.
And now I am here, writing for you. Because I believe that these little snippets of my life that I write about might be able to help some of you too.

My Starving, Neglected, Underweight, Breastfed Baby
This was my very first post ever written here on May 6, 2013 and it is one of the most popular posts on my blog. To think that I wrote it, mostly out of frustration, after I had a visit with our pediatrician, not even knowing who would be reading it and today thousands of you are finding it online because you are searching for answers because you were told some of the same things.
It started on a whim…
I woke up one morning several years ago and on a whim and told my husband “I think I’m starting a blog” he just looked at me and said “huh?” Not once had I ever brought it up to him before, but I had been thinking it might be something I could do. I said I didn’t know what it would be about, but that I was thinking it would be about motherhood. And that was it. I bought my domain that day and never looked back. I didn’t have a set plan, I didn’t know exactly what I was doing or what I was going to write about, I just did it. If I had waited for the “right time” after I researched or brainstormed or had everything planned out – who knows, maybe I would have gotten too busy and forgotten about it. I guess that’s kind of how I operate.
Yes Mom, You CAN do it too.
That’s the thing with some of life’s best decisions. Sometimes acting, even when you don’t have a set plan, but you have the passion, can be just what you need to lead you on your path to what could be the best decision you ever made.
Recently I wrote a post on the 2 Side Jobs That Make Me $3,000 Per Month as a Stay At Home Mom. I truly did not expect the positive feedback that I received. I had people emailing me thanking me for it, for being so transparent and inspirational and I had numerous moms tell me that my income seemed like something achievable and it gave them hope that they could do it too, and it got them excited.
This makes my heart happy! Because I truly feel like I am supposed to help others in this world. Because to be a mother is something unlike anything else in this world. That feeling you never felt before until you see the life that you carried inside just moments before. It’s incredible and I truly feel like every mom should have the option to be at home with their babies.
TAKE ACTION
Don’t wait, just do it and don’t look back because you CAN do it. You don’t have to have all the answers right away. I surely didn’t. I jumped in and my blog evolved as my journey into motherhood unfolded.
Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s something that can take time and some effort but hard work definitely pays off. So why not start now?
