4 Places Online to Shop for Baby & Kids Clothes on a Budget

Where to find baby clothes on a budget

I have three kids and shopping for clothes can get expensive. I shop a mix of both new and secondhand for the kids because kids grow out of their clothes so quickly. It sometimes pains me to spend more than $10 on a single item of clothing they will wear once!

My rule of thumb is to buy cheap for new and secondhand for high quality brand name. Over the years I have realized that the shelf life of higher quality brand name clothes is longer, so if it’s something I think they will wear often I will opt for the higher quality brand at secondhand price.

When shopping new I always keep in mind our budget and look for things that are on sale. Below I have compiled a list of my favorite places to shop online for my two girls and baby boy. Shopping online for kids clothes also saves me the hassle of trying to go shopping for kids clothes with three little ones.

Where to find baby clothes on a budget

1.  ThredUp

One of my favorite places to shop for my kids – all time, hands down is ThredUp. ThredUp is a secondhand online shop that also allows you to sell your own clothes back for credit. One of the ways I save money here is by getting their ‘clean-out’ bag, and send them a bunch of our own clothes that don’t fit anymore. Once they keep what they can sell they give you a credit to go shopping! Most of their clothes are secondhand but you can also find NEW clothing here with tags still attached selling for secondhand prices. They offer size Preemie on up. Check out ThredUp here.

2.  Crazy 8

We absolutely LOVE Crazy 8! This is one of the only places where I buy clothes NEW. And that’s because you can get really nice, good quality clothing and their prices are really affordable. Some items as low as $1.99! You can find sizes 6M – size 12. I just got the kids matching pj’s for $8.88 each with FREE shipping! I can’t wait to get them! Check out Crazy 8 here.

3.  Swap

Swap is another online consignment shop. I prefer online secondhand shops to my local thrift shops because these online shops usually only accept the very best quality clothing for resale and it saves me the headache of having to go through racks of racks of clothing looking for the best things. You can filter by gender, condition and size on the site and they even offer returns! You can find sizes from Preemie on up. Check out Swap here.

4. Gymboree

Gymboree is another site that I use to buy new. They frequently have big sales and I’m talking like 50-70% off type of sale. I usually wait for those! Also, lookout for their sales and you can also sign-up for their email list and they send you coupons you can use too! Check out Gymboree here.

Thank you for sharing your money saving tips! I am heading to check out the sites you listed right now. It seems that every time I drop a bunch of money on kids clothes, it automatically cues them to hit a growth spurt. Do you have any advice for where to purchase sale or quality second hand baby and toddler gear at a great price? My local consignment shops don’t seem to have the selection that I am looking for. I always try to remember to check reviews of any second hand gear that I am interested in. If you or any of your readers are looking for reviews or articles on choosing gear for the on-the-go family, I welcome you to visithttps://www.roamingmommy.com
