Thinking about the girls upcoming birthdays and facing the fact that I won’t have babies anymore, but two toddlers now, had me feeling a little sentimental. The girls are growing up so fast. They both have distinct little personalities, different laughs and smiles. It’s so amazing to watch them turn into beautiful little girls.
It got me thinking about the being able to stay at home with them and how blessed I am to be able to watch them grow up before my eyes. I mean literally, before my eyes. There are new things that happen everyday. There are new words and sounds, sometimes laughs and cries. I know that making the decision to stay home with them was probably the BEST decision I have ever made. No not probably, it was.
It wasn’t something we necessarily planned in the beginning, but I did have an inkling about it being possible. I wanted it. I know there are many women who work outside the home because they have to, or just because they want to, and I have so much respect for working mothers. I understand both reasonings. I grew up in a family where my mom and dad both worked full-time jobs because they had to. My grandmother was a big part of my life growing up, and my childhood was far from being bad, or difficult because of it. But I do feel lucky to be able to wake up with my girls everyday and plan my day around them. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
