How I Increased Income and Pageviews by 10,000 in 30 Days

Increase pageviews using boardbooster

There are two main ingredients here that helped me increase my pageviews and affiliate income in 30 days.

The first is…

I say that because for THREE years that I have been blogging I have been working hard. I’ve chased pageviews, worked for companies on sponsored posts but one thing that I have completely dropped the ball on and spent 0 time and $0 on learning is affiliate marketing.

You might have read my recent post Can You Really Make $50,000 per month Blogging? where I write about an affiliate course I took called Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. In that post I wrote about how I went from knowing nothing on affiliate marketing and making $20 or less each month in affiliate income to making over $690 the very same month of taking the course! That’s a little more than doubling for sure! (Be sure to check out the interview with Michelle, the affiliate expert herself at the end of this post!)

So what is the second ingredient?

For the longest time I have heard that if you figure out how to work Pinterest for your blog, you can increase your pagviews in a really short amount of time.

It’s something I really didn’t expect to get along with an affiliate marketing course but there is a FREE BONUS Pinterest course at the end of Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing!

The course is given by Rosemarie  Groner from The Busy Budgeter. She charges $46 for her Pinterest Strategy Guide, but you get it for free with Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing! Word on the street is that this course is increasing in price in the next few days to $146!

Take a look at a screenshots from my Google Analytics below.

I will break it down for you so that you can see what it really was before and after the course.

I took this course on September 17th. So the 30 days prior from Aug 16 – Sept 16 I had 22,261 which was normal for me.

Then, see the next screenshot for the 30 days after taking the course Sept 16 – Octo 16, my pageviews bumped up by 10,000!

The Secret to Making $50,000 Per Month Blogging

Here’s a breakdown of my pageviews by month.

I’m am now seeing an increase every month!

Aug 16 – Sept – 22,631

Sept – Oct – 22,055

Sept 30 – Oct 30 – 41,607  <<<<<<

As you can see, I am ending October at 41,000 pageviews which is the HIGHEST pageview number I’ve had in three years! I am first to admit that I regret not investing in blogging education sooner!! The strategy using uses a program called Tailwind, which is AMAZING. I spend a few hours a month – A MONTH, doing this and pageviews from Pinterest just start rolling in. I don’t have to be on Pinterest at all during the day! I LOVE IT! You can sign-up for Tailwind here.

Today I have Michelle herself from Making Sense of Cents for an exclusive interview to talk more about her course, who it can help and why you need to get in on affiliate marketing if you haven’t already.

Can you tell us more about yourself and why you started a blog?

Hey! My name is Michelle and I run the personal finance website Making Sense of Cents. I have three finance-related college degrees and I actually used to be a financial analyst.

In the summer of 2011, I started my blog with the aim of teaching people how to save money as well as talking about my personal finance journey after reading a magazine that featured a personal finance website in one of their articles. I became extremely interested in that website and my interest in blogging just grew from there.

I did not create my blog with the intention of making money blogging. It was all just a hobby and a way for me to work through my personal finance journey I then realized how much I loved blogging and realized that it was for me, so now I am a full-time blogger! I went full-time in October of 2013 and I haven’t looked back once. Blogging has completely changed my life for the better and it’s something that I recommend everyone try if they are interested.

On Making Sense of Cents, I write often about the many different ways to make extra income, the top money saving tips, how to start a blog, reaching your dream life, traveling full-time, and more.

Can newer bloggers make money from affiliate marketing?

Yes, newer bloggers can definitely make money from affiliate marketing. It’s all about building trust with your following and promoting affiliate products in the correct way. These are both things that I teach in Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.

Would you say affiliate marketing is your favorite way to monetize your blog? If so, why?

I love affiliate income because it can feel quite passive. You can create just one blog post or social media post, and potentially earn money from it years down the line, as long as you maintain it and keep generating traffic to it. With affiliate marketing, I can enjoy life more and know that I am still able to earn a great living promoting products that I use and enjoy.

Think about it this way: If you already enjoy a product, why not get paid to promote it?

How many blog posts would you say you need before you start implementing these strategies from your course?

You can start implementing the strategies from my course right away. There are many new bloggers who are successfully taking the course even though they haven’t even officially launched their blogs yet.

My course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing is a great way to learn about affiliate marketing, even if you are a new blogger or if you haven’t been blogging for very long. By taking my course, you will start off blogging the correct way. You can learn from my affiliate marketing mistakes and learn the best ways to start making an income by being an affiliate. Through taking this course you are sure to grow a profitable blog quicker than the average blogger, as you’ll learn exactly what you need to know about affiliate marketing.

I know you’ve been blogging for several years now but can you recall when you had your very first affiliate sale? How long into your blogging journey was it?

I don’t remember my first affiliate sale but I can say this.

I’ve been interested in affiliate marketing for a few years, but I never thought it was possible before. I always thought that you had to have a huge following and a ton of page views in order to be successful with affiliate marketing.

One day just around two years ago, I decided to give myself a goal of earning affiliate income, and I worked towards achieving that goal. I started by making a little bit each month, and then it just continued to grow month after month.  I now know that you don’t need a ton of page views or a huge following in order to make a great income through affiliate marketing.

What is it that you want your students to take away from this course?

There are TWO things I would like to mention 🙂

The first thing that I would like students to learn about is the different strategies to use to promote your affiliate products. Affiliate marketing is not as easy as just slapping affiliate links on your website and calling it a day. There are many different ways to promote an affiliate product, and I recommend learning about all of them and applying as many as you can to your affiliate marketing strategy.

How to build trust and not lose followers. In hopes of earning more money, many new online influencers and those who are new to affiliate marketing just sign up for anything and everything when it comes to affiliate marketing. You should only promote products that you have experience with, that you personally trust and believe in, and/or that you have had a good experience and time with.

Sign-up for Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing here. The course is $197 but completely worth it. You can purchase it in two payments at $100 for two months which is what I did. In the first few weeks after taking the course I earned $690 in affiliate income, so I made the course price back plus some. Using affiliate marketing to monetize your blog really is the best kept secret. Don’t leave money on the table every month. Get serious about it, don’t wait three years like me! 🙂

In addition to the wealth of knowledge on making affiliate income that you get from taking the course there are also some invaluable perks that you get when purchasing the course!

Facebook Mastermind Group

The first is that you get access to her Mastermind Facebook group. I have learned so much just by being apart of this. There are also so many experienced bloggers in the course sharing their expertise and ideas on how to maximize your income.

Access to an Affiliate Marketing Blogging Expert

In the Facebook group you get access to an affiliate income expert – Michelle herself! In the Facebook group she has an Ask Michelle thread on Saturdays where you can ask her anything and get a response directly from her.
