We hosted our very first Make & Take oils party yesterday. 🙂 We, as in my wonderful friend Alyssa who also uses oils in her daily life, wanted to host a fun celebration for our family and friends where we could share some fun ideas and recipes you can make with essential oils. I am very happy to say it was a huge success! I am so grateful to our friends and family who decided to join us in this crazy oily journey. 🙂
First off, the invitation…I made a little setup in my home with some of my oils and my sugar scrub that I made and took a photo for the invite. Then in Photoshop I just added in the text for the party. I printed out a few of them on 4×6 photo paper, handed a few out to friends and family but mostly our event was shared online.
(Because I’ve gotten a few inquiries on purchasing this invite I now have it listed in my Etsy shop HERE)
For the party we wanted to have all the girls make and take home their own Lavender-Lemon sugar scrub. I have been making my own scrubs for years now and I use them quite often. I even like to make them during the holiday season to give out as gifts. The best thing about sugar scrubs is that they are so easy to make, not expensive at all and you can come up with so many different types of ways to use your favorite oils. I thought it was the perfect way to introduce essential oils to my friends and family.
We kept it simple with food and drinks and just had a food and fruit tray, along with an amazing Lavender-blueberry Lemonade the lovely host made. We started everything off with a happy hour where everyone served their food, drinks and mingled until the rest of the guests arrived.
We had some displays around the room along with some info pamphlets our guests could look through while everyone waited. Then everyone sat and got ready for our mini-oils class. The goal of our mini-oils class was just to share some basic information on the oils that come in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit. They even got to sample the delicious oil-infused energy drink NingXia Red. YUM.
The lovely host.
I cannot thank her enough for the beautiful job she did hosting in her home. I am so grateful for her and so happy that she has joined me in this journey. Having a friend and a community to walk along beside you in this journey is everything. It truly means the world to me.
After our very informal, more conversational mini-class…we headed over to the sugar scrubs table where we had a display of empty glass mason jars, we used these here > Ball 61162 Wide Mouth Canning Jar, 4-Pack, a tub of sugar and coconut oil so that everyone could start making their scrubs to take home.
I made up some 4×6 recipe cards in Photoshop and printed them at Walmart (1-hour) right before the party. 🙂 I also made up some printable labels for the mason jars we used for our scrubs and printed those out as well. You can find the downloadable versions below.
We all had so much fun, it was really informal and seemed like it was just a fun afternoon get together with the girls. I am so happy how everything turned out and I’m so grateful for all the girls who decided to join us in this journey!! We are so happy to have you. 🙂
