For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted little girls. I had dreams of princess parties, tea parties, tutus, everything frilly and pink and wonderful. I’m so grateful that I have gotten to experience all this with my little princesses. They love it all. My daughters, although they love a lot of the same things, they are both very different from each other.
Scarlett, my first born. She’s a little quiet and reserved. She can be shy but is outgoing and chatty around the ones she knows. She is generous and well-mannered and is totally embracing this big sister thing. She loves to teach her little brother and sister everything she knows. June, my little explorer. She loves to explore and watch the world around her, she is most definitely independent and can be quiet and very focused. She is outgoing, generous and caring. She is emotional and has no problem telling you how she feels and what she does and does not like. 🙂
It’s always fun to sit down with my girls, with all the distractions and electronics off in the house and to just sit, do a little craft together and just talk. These times are much more than the project itself, although they think it’s the most important thing at the time. It’s so much more about the quality time that you are spending together. We decided to make some princess inspired jewelry using some jute string and some colored beads. It’s probably the easiest and cutest little craft you can do with girls. What little girl doesn’t love jewelry? 🙂
All you need is:
Jute string or colored plastic jewelry wire
To have your little princesses make their princess inspired jewelry, just have them pick out the colors their favorite princess wears, start stringing the beads onto the string, as many as they like. Then mom ties the ends of the necklaces and bracelets to hold the beads in.
The girls started getting creative and started adding different colored beads to the string and June even wanted to wear hers around her head. Let them get creative! Remember, it’s not about the craft but the time spent together and the free play to get creative.
I want them to grow up strong, brave and courageous, I want them to dream big, follow their dreams and never give up. I want them to be whatever they want to be. I love the positive message behind Disney Princesses’ “Dream Big, Princess” campaign. Have you seen the video? My girls run everytime they hear it come on TV. I love that it provides a positive message to young girls that they can do and be whatever they want to be and to never stop dreaming. If you haven’t seen it, watch it below.
