Getting Our First Vegetable Garden with Scotts Miracle Gro Underway #Mijardinalidad

Growing our First Vegetable Garden with Scotts Miracle Gro

Scotts Express Yourself DIY Vegetable Garden
You might have seen a few weeks ago, we received several products from Scotts Miracle Gro to get our vegetable garden started and the weather has finally normalized here for us to get outside and finally get it started. We are in Texas, and if you’ve been watching the news we’ve had some major, unfortunate flooding, that’s taken over our the past few weeks. But last weekend was gorgeous and we got outside to do some yard work and start our garden with Scotts.

Now I will be the first to admit that I am not a pro-gardener. In fact, this will be the first garden that I’ve ever attempted to grow. But Scotts made it easy, they sent us some great information on the web on Tips & Tricks on how to Express Yourself, specifically the Spring Vegetables to Grow in the Southwest. And they also sent us these little seed pods to start off with. I mean how much easier can it get?? You just take these little vegetable seed pods out and plant the whole thing in the dirt. These little pods contain a lot of seeds.

Here’s how we started off. We gathered the seed pods we wanted to grow. We had some Roma Tomato’s, Cucumber, Cilantro, Basil…all this delicious stuff. 🙂

Then we prepped the area. We used Scotts Garden Soil and dumped several bags out and spread it around.

The girls helped a little. 🙂 They arranged the seed pods and well…one collected rocks.

We prepped the area by removing some of the large rocks and we used Roundup® Ready-To-Use Weed & Grass Killer III to get rid of some of the weeds that had grown, and then finally spread the Miracle-Gro® Garden Soil for Flowers & Vegetables all around. We then planted the seed pods, and then we watered it.

I really hope they start growing!! Fingers crossed. 😀 I am hoping all the rain we had recently has gotten the ground pretty saturated to keep it moist. Also, the Scotts Garden Soil and other products like the Nature’s Care® Organic and Natural Vegetable, Fruit & Flower Food, should really help with vegetable growth.

I hope to bring you even more posts and photos on our little garden once it starts growing so stay tuned! Thanks Scotts for making this experience with my girls a memorable one as always. 😀
