My toddler loves for me to read to her, so I’m always looking for new books to buy her. She does have her favorite books, most notably Elmo’s Play Day which came with a little stuffed Elmo that my mom got for her. She also loves her My Big Animal Book which she got as a gift for her first birthday. She will bring them to me at least 10x a day herself and sit on my lap with it so that I can read it to her. Both of these are board books, so she can’t destroy them in a day which is perfect for this age.
Since Halloween is coming up, I took to the web to find some very new Halloween board books for her.
I am most excited about #1 & #2.
1 because she is absolutely in love with anything Mickey Mouse Club right now and 2 because her favorite word right now to say is Doggie, although sounds more like Dowee. 🙂
So here are the ones I found that had some of the best reviews and were under $7.
Its almost Halloween and Mickey and the gang are getting ready for their big Clubhouse Halloween party. But will they be able to turn the Clubhouse into the spookiest haunted house in time?
Woof, woof, it’s Halloween! This fun touch-and-feel board book is packed full of spooky canine fun. There are great pictures of cute dogs and puppies enjoying Halloween night to look at, and fun rhymes to read, too. A paw-fect gift for Howl-loween!
In Karen Katz’s distinctive style, an adorable baby searches throughout the house for her pumpkin. Is the pumpkin under the leaves, behind the curtain, under the bed? NO! But Baby finds many other surprises as a ghost, a witch’s hat, cute-as-a-button bats, and candy apples are found beneath each flap. Finally after Baby finds her pumpkin, she’s ready to go trick-or-treating and the final flap reveals a Halloween extravaganza!
What could be more fun than a party on Halloween night with the Sesame Street gang? Toddlers can lift the flaps to see what suprises the pumpkim patch holds – a dancing scarecrow, a spooky moon, and a ghost with a strong resemblance to … Big Bird!
Who’s There On Halloween? encourages readers to play along and use the clues to name the holiday characters hidden inside. Featuring charming text by Pamela Conn Beall and Susan Hagen Nipp and adorable illustrations by Charles Reasoner, these two Halloween books are sure to delight and entertain.
