Making New Christmas Traditions + Giveaway Winner Announcement

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers and JCPenney.  However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Christmas is probably our families most favorite holiday. As some of you know, this past year has been a whirlwind of new experiences for me. One of them was getting engaged a few days before Christmas last year. 🙂 It wasn’t a complete surprise considering we went and picked out the ring. 🙂 But it was still a VERY exciting time for me, Rick and our families. Then, a few months ago we were married…at a very pregnant 9 months I might add, AND I became a new mom for the second time in my life.

Last Christmas was my daugther’s very first Christmas. She was only 7 1/2 months old.

Where did the time go, seriously….

The holiday traditions I had growing up are evolving to say the least. I’ve noticed how my husband and I are bringing in the traditions we had growing up to our own family.

This year, we get to celebrate with the newest addition to the family. It seems as though our holidays are getting just a little bit more special each year. 🙂

You might remember a few weeks ago I posted about JCPenney’s video series “Real Holidays by Real Families where JCPenney is using Latino families in their Christmas choir and videos to show what the holidays are like for real families. Well, I have the second video in the series for you today.

“Real Latino Holidays: Papa Claus by Camila”

“I think Santa Claus is multicultural”

This is the second of three videos that will be released by JCPenney this holiday season. I encourage you to join in the conversation that is going on over on the JCPenney Latino Facebook page and make sure to check back and see when video #3 is released.

Until then…:)

I think that the traditions are the best part of the season. My favorite one is having a good meal on Christmas Eve and driving around to look at lights for a couple hours. It is just wonderful to have all of your family involved in something like that.

Melissa, that’s one thing we started doing last year with our daughter, even though she was little we drove around to see the lights. She’s older this year so she can actually enjoy them now. 🙂

I absolutely love the traditions of the season. For us that is what makes it so much fun! It’s a special time to build memories with the kids and you will love this year, as your little one is older and can understand more of what is going on.

Oh my gosh the photo with the reindeer ears. so cute. We tend to keep our traditions simple. Like going to see the tree lighting. We enjoy things like that

I think traditions are what makes the season so special and unique for each family. Everyone does their own thing and it is what makes it the holidays for that family!

Christmas is our families favorite holiday too! We continue to carry on old family traditions while adding our own too. I love that JC Penney is letting others look into other people family traditions. I can’t wait to see movie #3!

We love Christmas and start planning really early so everything goes smooth. Your little one is so cute, our youngest is just at the stage to believe in Santa so this year is a lot of fun.

One of our favorite traditions is to go to the Christmas tree farm, choose a tree and bring it home to decorate it.

I love holiday traditions. I missed it when my parents stopped putting up xmas decorations & the tree. Now that we have our own place, we’ve brought that tradition back 🙂

You have a beautiful family and congratulations on your newest edition! We had so many traditions when I was growing up and my husband and I did the same for my sons. Now that they are adults, we just try to spend as much time together during the holidays and have a good time.

Great pics Melanie. I have to say that we have no real traditions per se but we do read Twas the Night Before Christmas and watch the Grinch every Christmas Eve. That night the kids open one gift until the next morning. This year it’s going to be a little different since we won’t be here. Happy Holidays to you!

We have so many traditions for Christmas, but the main ones are getting the tree up, picking a new ornament for the year, and baking cookies the few days before Christmas.

One of our favorite holiday traditions is eating Paella on Christmas Eve. My father makes it every year and Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without it.
