We have been trying to get really creative lately with our weekends while we’ve been home. And I don’t mean just for the kids either, it keeps dad and I busy as well. I love coming up with creative ideas to have fun while we are, well where we are, pretty much on lock-down. We still try to get outdoors a lot but for those nights where dad and I just want to sit and relax, movie nights are where it’s at. We do family movie nights a lot here, but the other day the kids had the idea of working their own concession stand. They even came up with how to pick a movie that didn’t involve kids arguing over not wanting to see each other’s movie. How did we solve that problem?? Well, we let our bunny pick! Ha. They put a treat on three separate papers, each paper had a movie choice from each kid. Whichever one our bunny went to was the winner. And can you believe there was no arguing over the movie? I mean how could they, it was the bunny’s choice!
For our movie night concession stand I just went to Dollar Tree and picked up a bunch of their favorite candy. I know, it looks like a lot, but most of it was saved for future movie nights. We had a bowl of popcorn and serving spoon and the kids took turns serving each other popcorn in a little brown bag. I got the little white trays at Dollar Tree and they called it the “kids snack pack”, it came with popcorn, juice pouch and candy of choice. The candy was put inside a vintage bookcase I had and the small cart I got from Walmart, similar one here. That night we watched The Grinch. They love that movie. We are looking forward to more movie nights soon!
