Damsel in Defense Emergency Protection Products for Women

Damsel in Defense Emergency Protection Products for Women

I recently discovered a company called Damsel in Defense. It’s an awesome company that was founded in 2011 by two friends who had a passion for women’s safety, one whose own personal story prompted the creation of this line of sassy but safe products specifically geared towards women. Not only did these ladies come up with some amazing products, but they also created a way, through independent contractors, to get these safety products into the hands of more women. Damsel in Defense is about equipping women with the tools to not only keep them safe but also to give them the confidence to know that they have a way out if they ever feel threatened. The products are both affordable and can be easily thrown in a purse or a bag and be readily accessible if they are ever needed.

I received the Stun Gun, the Personal Alarm and the Pepper Spray. I will go into detail about all of them but let me first say that I am so IMPRESSED with the quality of these items. The absolute shocker is the STUN GUN! I will talk more about that in a moment but let’s get to the other products….

Holla At Me Personal Alarm

If you attack, I’m gonna fight you like a man so I won’t be screamin’ like a girl. I’ll let my LED flashlight keychain use its 120-decibel lungs to do that for me!

What’s great about this Personal Alarm is that it is small and can be used on your keychain or your bag or a backpack. This is one of the draws of this alarm, as a mother of two girls I am always thinking about safety not only for myself, but for them, when they get older and are in school. You can show your child how to use this alarm and attach it to their school backpacks to take with them.

I think everyone knows what pepper spray is, honestly it’s something I carried with me already. I think this in combination with the Personal Alarm is just another level of protection.

Pepper Spray

What are the effects of pepper spray?

It consists of OC (oleoresin capsicum), which is a highly inflammatory agent. Contact with eyes, nose, throat and lungs causes immediate dilation of the capillaries. This can result in temporary blindness and instant inflammation of the breathing tube tissues and systematically cuts off all but life-support breathing. Pepper spray will also create an intense burning sensation on the surface of the skin. However, pepper spray will cause no lasting after-effects. The effects last from 15 to 60 minutes, allowing you to escape from harm’s way. Because pepper spray is an inflammatory agent and not an irritant, it is effective on those who feel no pain, such as those under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Now let’s get to the stun gun. And I will be honest, I had no idea what to expect out of this thing. When I saw it I said – wow it’s small! It’s really compact and light-weight. Look at it compared to my iPhone. Small and slender but it’s PERFECT for the size of a woman’s hand. I had my husband help me with the first demonstration using this thing, NO I did not STUN him. Obviously I would not do that and he definitely would not volunteer. 🙂 But we charged it, tried it out and the spark/shock it sent out the first time we used it CONVINCED us that this was no joke. It was the REAL DEAL. I cannot say enough about it so I will just show you a video of what it looks like when we tried it out.

Stun Gun

Features: 7.5 million volts, light emitting diode (LED) flashlight, built-in/slide out charger, rechargeable, disable pin, ergonomic grip, comes with black nylon holster

Stun guns use high voltage and low amperage to temporarily stun an attacker. The energy stored in the stun gun is released into the attacker’s muscles, causing the muscle group in that area to do a great deal of work rapidly.

Warning: Although stun guns are designed to be a non-lethal form of self-defense, under rare circumstances, they can cause serious injury or death. These cases have exceptional contributing factors such as a rare heart condition, drug use or a secondary injury, etc. All products must be sold, carried and used according to your current local laws and for self-defense purposes only.

Now, there are several steps to using this Stun Gun so that it doesn’t automatically go off when you don’t want it to. Rather than a long explanation here, watch the video from Patti Stewart where she demonstrates the safety features of it along with a demo of what it actually looks like when it goes off. It’s pretty amazing. 🙂

Needless to say, the Stun Gun has become my best friend and is now going everywhere with me. I put it in my purse and because it’s so light I just forget about it, but I will definitely remember it’s there if I ever need it.

As a woman and as a mother, I think of my/our safety incessantly! I want to be prepared for anything. I carry pepper spray with my everywhere I go, every time I leave my home, and my Husband tirelessly works with me on staying safe. A stun gun would insure to some degree my/my children’s safety!

I want to win this for my sister. She has MS so she is not the strongest or fastest anymore. I’d feel better with her entering/leaving her apartment if she had this. Never too safe.

I’d love to win this stun gun for all the times when it’s impractical to conceal carry. Personal safety is very important to me, I know several women who have not only been victims of domestic violence but random acts of violence as well. Living so close to a big city and in a not very safe suburb I don’t like to leave my house if I know I’m not protected.

I would love to win this stun gun because with my husband working and going to school I am left home with only my young daughter and I allot. I don’t feel completely comfortable in the apartments we live in, and often have to go out late and night with my daughter and I alone to pick up my husband from work. Having this stun gun would make my daughter and I feel so much safer! I think about personal safety all the time. It is the most important thing to me to make sure my daughter is safe. Thanks for the opportunity to win!!

I am just like others, I would also love to try this amazing offer of winning a stungun, since my wife has just got a job in a Multinational company and most of the time she has to work late in the office.

This makes me really worried about her. We are planning to buy a car for her in next two months, but till that time, I want her to be safe.

I liked you blog and the information you have shared about this non lethal defensive tool.

With this I have got to know one thing that without breaking the laws, we can defend ourselves.
