Oil Use in Motherhood. Minimalist Motherhood

Oil Use in Motherhood. Minimalist Motherhood

Our oily team has a theme this month. September is minimalist motherhood. We want to share how oils have simplified our lives. You might think the opposite, because sometimes oils can seem overwhelming, maybe a little intimidating. Using oils does go against the grain of our fast-moving, quick-fix society, where one can pop a pill and not worry about it for the rest of the day. The truth is that, using oils and natural remedies does require a little bit more effort and commitment. But as a mother, this is so self-empowering. Knowing that we are taking responsibility for our health and learning what we are putting into our bodies and our children’s bodies.

When we wake up in the morning, here’s what we do. This is our routine using Young Living products.

First, we head to the bathroom where the girls use their KidScents toothpaste. I then start the diffuser with something amazing. This changes often but lately it’s been Tangerine + Joy.

“Tangerine is a calming essential oil with a sweet, tangy aroma. It helps with occasional nervous irritability. An excellent oil to help uplift the spirit and bring about a sense of security, tangerine is also rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene. Limonene is a bioactive food component from citrus and has been researched for it’s tumor-fighting properties.”

My husband will use his En-R-Gee when he wakes up. He also puts a drop of Digize under his tongue before heading off to work.

I start off my day with my favorite oils: En-R-Gee and Stress Away: both blends, pretty self explanatory.  I also rub a blend of Joy + Valor on my chest. These are everyday musts for me.

I start off the day cleaning, with my Thieves Household Cleaner, any messes left over from the night before and any dishes left over in the sink. I add 1 capful of my to my dishwasher where the tablets would go. I still find it amazing that the same stuff I can use to keep my girls well is the same stuff I can use to clean my house. ?? one part solution to 30 parts water – mix and clean!

Before we head out the door to go anywhere, I will use the girls immune roller on their feet. Their roller is Thieves diluted with coconut oil. I have the same roller but it’s less diluted for me.

“Young Living’s Thieves® blend supports healthy immune function. Thieves blend was inspired by the legend of four 15th-century French thieves who formulated a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals they used while robbing the dead and dying.”

The kidscents collection is the best. These are kept with me in my oils bag in my purse.

“This arsenal of proprietary blends has been formulated in the appropriate strength to meet the needs of children, and they are safe, natural alternatives to comparable products found on many store shelves

So this is just a start to our day, just keeping it simple with some of the oils we use daily. Another post coming soon for what we use in the next part of our day.
