I wanted to share with you fun recipe we tried the other day. It’s an Oreo and strawberry churro roll! Think churro + French toast. Yum!
You can mix any of your favorite things as the filling for these. We chose chopped strawberries and ground up Oreo cookies. You can even add in some cream cheese that I think would be an amazing addition!
Here’s what you need:
12 Oreo cookies finely crushed
4-5 chopped strawberries
White bread with the crusts cut off
1 egg and half a cup of milk for egg mixture
Optional: add cream cheese in filling. Serve with ½ tsp cinnamon into thawed 8-oz. tub frozen whipped topping. Serve spooned over churros.
Cut the crusts off the bread and flatten them with a rolling pin.
Prepare your filling. Cut up strawberries. Put Oreo cookies in a plastic baggie and finely crush them with rolling pin.
Take flattened bread and add in your filling and roll up.
Set filling aside and prepare your egg mixture.
Mix 1 egg and ½ cup milk in a bowl.
Take your roll and dip it into egg mixture then put in a pan with butter.
Cook until lightly brown and toasty. Remove from heat and put on plate of remaining crushed Oreo’s and roll on.
Add any remaining filling to top of rolls and serve.
