For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to dress-up as a family on Halloween. Over the years I have seen so many creative family costume ideas but have had so little time to try to put anything together. This year though, I was determined. I had no idea what we were doing, but I wanted something fun and really simple, affordable and without a-lot of fuss. With three young ones I just don’t have time for many DIY costumes these days….
We went to JCPenney and luckily they had exactly what we were looking for. We took a stroll through the kid’s section first and found everything from Rapunzel and Moana to Buzz Lightyear and Mickey Mouse costumes. I seriously considered putting Lennon in a Mickey costume because he loves him so much. But we weren’t sold just yet and we continued to walk through the Halloween section before deciding. And low and behold – we found the PERFECT family costume.
Our 4-year-old has been obsessed with dressing up as a….wait for it…. a skeleton. haha YUP, a skeleton. A little backstory here…I think she told us every day for a week straight that she wanted to be a skeleton for Halloween. Her favorite Halloween video to watch on her tablet is a girl singing Halloween songs and she is wearing a skeleton costume with a tutu. She thought it was the best thing ever. So we came across skeleton costumes and to make things even better, they had matching costumes for every member of our family and in our right sizes! You can’t beat that…so we just went with it. 🙂 Even our dog!!
JCPenney carries a wide selection of Halloween home décor, costumes for people and pets, and accessories for the whole family! We found these cute headbands that went perfectly with the costumes.
The costumes cost us $10 a piece and our pets costume was only $5! Originally we had purchased our pet a costume at JCPenney before finding the matching skeleton, so he actually has two costumes this year – lucky dog!
