Football season is here and playoff time is one of my husbands favorite time of the year. It’s also the perfect time to get together with friends for some yummy food and drinks. Football is big at our house. My husband is a HUGE fan, even though his team never makes it into the playoffs, he still enjoys the big game. 🙂 Around this time of the year we start thinking about all the finger foods we can make for when our friends come over. I am a hug dip lover, and I like to make my own layered dip.
Here is our recipe for our favorite spicy layered dip with El Yucateco sauce served in tortilla dipping shells.
Here’s what you need:
1 can Refried beans
2 Avocados or Guacamole
3 tbs El Yucateco hot sauce
4 oz Sour Cream
8 oz Cheese
1 package Tortilla dipping shells
First, place all your ingredients separately into bowls for easy scooping. We use fresh avocados to make our guacamole but you can use a premade one too. We found the El Yucateco hot sauce at La Michoacana Meat Market. You also need sour cream and cheese.
Now the secret to get the perfect spicy flavor is to mix the El Yucateco hot sauce into the sour cream! It makes it so delicious, it gives it that extra kick. We like things with a little spice around here and this gives it the perfect flavor.
After you have your ingredients ready just simply scoop each one out at a time into your dipping shells. Things will get a little mixed up but that’s ok, it tastes soo good!
The best thing about this is the bite size they turn out to be, perfect appetizer for any type of gathering. And you can only need a little bit of ingredients to feed a lot!
And don’t forget to pair it with your favorite drink! Our choice Coca-Cola of course!
