This is part of a sponsored campaign with DiMe Media and Coca-Cola. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
My little one just turned 3 years old this weekend. It seems like the baby stage is such a fleeting moment in time. I always hear parents say their children grow-up too fast but she has really has. I remember when her tiny little legs were just learning to walk, and I had to hold her up as she stumbled along trying to keep her balance. This is a bittersweet time for me, as I’m sure it is for all mothers. A 3rd birthday….my first born…it is the anniversary of when I first became a mother and I truly felt what it was like to love another human being so much that I would risk everything, even my own life, to keep them safe.
I watched her on her 3rd birthday with tear filled eyes, secretly wishing that just for a moment that I could hold her as a newborn baby just one more time. Oh how I miss those days. As much as I miss them, I do look forward to each new year. Each year brings new firsts and new experiences. I love discovering her personality and what she likes, what makes her laugh and what she wants to learn.
It never fails. These videos showing mothers and their children, and the way they seem to just grow up in front of your eyes always brings tears to my eyes. This Mother’s Day, Coca-Cola is reminding us of the inseparable bond between mother and child with an interactive Mother’s Day video in which the viewer can switch between the point of view of a mother and daughter throughout the different stages of their relationship.
Coca-Cola believes every day should be a day to call and thank your mother for everything she’s done for you, but understands it may not always be feasible. That’s why we want to give you a moment to connect with mom and tell her how much you love her. Starting May 6, Coca-Cola is giving its Mother’s Day video viewers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico the opportunity to call their mothers anywhere in the world for three minutes.
How does the technology to call your mother work?
- Upon finishing watching the Mother’s Day videoon the Coca-Cola microsite, users will see an end screen with a button that says, “Surprise Mom with a Call.”
- Clicking the “Call” button will open a form asking for the user’s age verification (users must be over the age of 13), user’s telephone number and recipient’s telephone number. Recipient’s phone number can be outside of the U.S.
- The user placing the call must be based in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, but can call anywhere in the world.
- If user enters a valid phone number for himself/herself and recipient, a third party platform will connect the call between the two users. The user will see confirmation that their phone number was successfully entered and their phone will ring.
Thank you Coca Cola for reminding us that the best gift you can give your Mother on Mother’s day, is a call to say you Love Her.
