The PlasmaBike Review – The Best Balance Bike for Kids

I was provided a free product in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

My daughter is at that age right now where she wants to ride anything with wheels. She has even tried riding her tiny plastic toy cars. So it’s needless to say that when she saw the PlaSmart PlasmaBike that came for her, she was very excited. And I will add, that this is her very first balance bike and she got the hang of it really quickly. I mean to the point where she was speed-racing down our driveway. Ok, I won’t go as far as saying speed racer but she was going pretty fast and she was loving every minute of it.

Some of the best things about this bike are that it has no pedals she has to try and reach, there are no other gears or wheels that get in the way. It’s just her and her balance. I’m not worried about her falling off the bike at all. The bike is really stable and allows her to use her coordination and motor skills. She can get on and off it pretty easily and can push it around herself.

Rick calls this bike the Tron bike because he says it looks like it could be from the movie Tron. It looks like a tough bike right? I mean one that would weigh over say about 20lbs or so? At least that’s what I thought when I saw it, but it’s not. It’s super lightweight and weighs only 7! Which means I can carry the bike, while carrying the baby and hold my daughter’s hand at the same time IF I ever had the need to. You would be surprised at the multi-tasking I have to do these days. I surprise myself sometimes.

Here is some more information on the bike taken from the PlasmaBike website.

plasmabike

PlasmaBike is a balance bike like no other! Its unique design encourages balance, coordination, and motor skills development while offering a fun ride. Lightweight and easy-to-carry to playgrounds, playdates, and when kid-power tires out. Age 18 mos. and up, holds up to 55 lb. (25 kg), weighs only 7 lb. (3.18 kg).

Children as young as 18 months can enjoy the freedom of riding without the added complication of training wheels or anxiety of having to hold their balance too long, too early. Wide wheels ensure that PlasmaBike doesn’t tip over in a stopped or stationary position, giving children added confidence and promoting self esteem. The wide wheels and limited steering range enhance balancing and provide a smoother transition to a conventional 2 wheel ride.

I would definitely recommend the PlasmaBike for toddlers. She rode this bike confidently. And at this age, confidence is so important to making a happy and independent little person. 🙂

What isn’t there to love about this bike? I like that there are no wheels most. My youngest had the biggest issue learning how to pedal. This looks like it would be much easier to use than a tricycle.

We got a Plasma Car when they first came out with them years ago. We still have it today, and it’s still a family favorite. I know that the PlasmaBike is just as cool and would be a new favorite. =0)
    Thanks for the chance!

WE teach our oldest son (7yo) how to ride his bicycle with out training wheel last spring. We fund out he needed to learn how to balance first so we had to take the pedals out of the bicycle. Hope I use this one instead with my other two kids.

i like that it is light and helps the child learn to balance and motor skills, my youngest had a developmental delay and i’m due in september with me 3rd child the experience i had with my daughter have taught me so much about being a mother, teacher, and a advocate. I have fear that this baby will have the same developmental issues but I also feel like I am more prepared to stand up and face the future. This bike would be wonderful to have for our baby to be.
